The Stone Lion Inn.

In 1987 the home was purchased by its current owner, Becky Luker. She claims that during the time her family lived in the house, toys in the upstairs attic room would be constantly scattered about. Today the home is converted into a bed-and-breakfast, but that does not stop the ghostly spirits that reside within from interacting with the unfamiliar guests. Guests have reported to Luker that in one certain room late at night they feel like someone is patting their face with a small hand. Other accounts of reported activity include hearing children laughing, footsteps, and sightings of a male figure. I heard of the stories over the years and decided it was time to check out the house firsthand.

First Investigation: Video Recording Prohibited

In July of 2005, I first checked in to the Stone Lion as a guest. This trip, I was in the Lucille Mulhall Suite. I was given permission to conduct the investigation in the room if the other guests were not disturbed.

I met a young couple, Mike and Karen, who were staying in the hotel as well and were very interested in the paranormal. I spoke with them briefly about my past experiences and their interest in the paranormal. They agreed to let me in their room, the Cora Diehl Suite, to investigate. The room housed a full-size bed, and various articles of clothing were pinned and painted on the walls of the room. We sat around the bed asking questions to see if any spirits would respond. I placed several EMF meters around the room and waited in silence with the guests. After about forty-five minutes of no activity, we concluded the investigation of this room. After their room was complete, they followed me to the study and finally to my room.

When all was said and done, I thanked them for their assistance and said that I would be in touch with them. I entered the Lucille Mulhall Suite, which was a smaller room with a full-size bed and bathroom. I positioned my video camera to record toward the door to the room and climbed into bed. I lay there with my eyes closed for about two minutes until I heard a door open. I then felt a presence move closer to the bed, and a few seconds later the camera switched off all by itself. I opened my eyes halfway expecting to see someone standing by my bed near the camera. No one was there.
